3-DAY ASA114 CATAMARAN
CRUISING COURSE 

This is designed as a three-day course, offered aboard the 44' Fountaine Pajot "Samaquan" is designed to introduce and qualify the experience monohull skipper to bareboat charter on the glorious Chesapeake Bay, as well as in the Caribbean.  You will learn the skills specific to sailing the multihull, including docking with twin inboard engines, tacking, jibing and chartering fundamentals. This is a liveaboard course and also incorporates anchoring, mooring and heavy weather techniques. While sailing you will delve into safety procedures, reefing while underway, and various overboard situations. Of course, you will be sailing and piloting your craft with more comfort and ease every minute. Upon successful completion, you will receive your certification with CSS and the American Sailing Association.  Pre-requisite: ASA104

 

4 - DAY CATAMARAN ASA104/114
CRUISING COURSE

After completing the Basic Coastal Cruising course, take this combination ASA104 Bareboat Chartering and ASA114 Cruising Course and get certified to charter that CAT! This program is geared towards the student with cruising experience aboard charter boats 30' and above and who will be sailing in more difficult cruising areas. Also open to non-graduates who have done some cruising or chartering but would like to expand their skills and feel completely at ease for extended cruising or chartering in exotic areas such as the Caribbean. The 4-Day Catamaran Chartering course will qualify you at the ASA Bareboat Chartering level (ASA104) and the Cruising Catamaran Level (114). Bareboat Chartering covers topics such as trip planning, galley procedures and common cooking systems, sea breeze and land breeze effects, fog, radar reflectors, etiquette, use of tide tables and current set and drift, daily and weekly maintenance procedures, and proper use of specific knots.
